Outclarity is operated by Recentriq LLC. Using this site or subscribing means these terms apply.

Your account

You choose a password when you sign up. Keep it to yourself: anyone with it can read your reports and change your subscription. Tell us promptly if you believe somebody else has it.

We store it hashed with scrypt and cannot read it, which is also why we cannot tell it to you — a forgotten password is reset by a person, on request.

What you are buying

A fortnightly written report about one business, compiled entirely from secondary, publicly available sources — the business's own website, its listings, and the review and directory platforms its industry is judged on. A year is 24 issues at $490, charged once, in advance.

We do not use private data, purchased data, or anything a customer of yours gave to somebody in confidence. We do not ask you for your sales figures, your customer list, or access to any system you run. Everything a report is built from is something any member of the public could have read on the day we read it — which is the point: it is what your customers see.

Reports are our opinion drawn from evidence we collected on a date we state. They are not an audit, a certification, legal advice, or a guarantee of any commercial outcome. Acting on a finding is your decision.

Payment

The price is $490 for a year of 24 reports, charged in full when you sign up. Payment is taken by Stripe; we never receive or store your card details. Tax is added at checkout where it applies.

Your first report is produced within one working day of payment, and the rest follow roughly every 14 days.

The term, cancellation and refunds

A year does not renew itself. You are charged once, for the year you bought. When it ends it ends, and nothing is taken from your card again unless you choose to start another year. We send a reminder before your last issue, so the decision is yours rather than a surprise on a statement.

You may cancel at any time — from your dashboard, or through the billing link in any message we send you. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. It stops the next charge and does not shorten the current year: every report that year has paid for is still delivered.

Payments are non-refundable. The subscription is sold as a year, and the first report is produced and delivered immediately on payment, which is the point at which the service has begun. By signing up you ask us to begin at once and accept that the fee is not refundable once we have. Nothing here affects any right you have under law that cannot be excluded by agreement.

Acceptable use

Reports are licensed to you for use inside your own business. You may share an individual report with your staff, your advisers or a contractor working on the problems it describes. You may not republish the reports as a product, resell them, or use them to build a competing service.

Suspension

We may decline or end a subscription — refunding the unused part of the year — if it is used to gather information about a business other than one you are entitled to act for, or in any way that breaks these terms.

Availability and liability

We aim to publish every fortnight. If a site cannot be read, or there is genuinely nothing to report, an issue may say so rather than invent content; a materially short year will be extended or refunded pro rata.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes

We may change these terms. Material changes are sent to subscribers by email before they take effect, and never applied retroactively to a year you have already paid for.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, except where the law of your own country gives you rights that cannot be set aside by agreement — in which case those rights apply.
